Mill Pond Village Fire
Last night at about 11:30 PM, Officers responded with the Broad Brook Fire Department to the Mill Pond Village Apartments for a report of smoke coming from the H building.
Responding units reported fire showing from the roof. The Broad Brook Fire Department was on-scene very quickly and began working to extinguish the fire while Officers began evacuating the H building and the adjacent G,J,K, L and E buildings.
The fire was quickly extinguished within 30 minutes by the fire departments but all residents in the 12 apartments in the H building were displaced as well as residents in 2 apartments from the G building due to extensive damage. The families that were displaced worked with the Red Cross for temporary housing.
There were no injuries in this fire and all pets are accounted for. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshall. We would like to recognize the Broad Brook Fire Department, the Warehouse Point Fire Department, the South Windsor FIRE Department, the Ellington Fire Department, the Enfield Fire Department and the Somers Fire Department who all worked seamlessly together to extinguish the fire and ensure everyone’s safety. We sincerely thank the Red Cross, who responded with five or six team members, for their assistance. … See MoreSee Less

The fire fighters were very nice. We sat outside with our son because we were told we would be able to go back in after. But we couldn't. It affected our apartment. Everyone was, for the most part helping each other. I can't go back home yet. I usually don't post on Facebook, so I'm kind of not sure if I'll post this. But I just can't wait to go home but I can't for a long while. And the help you get, which is much appreciated, only lasts so long. Especially when all your stuff is locked up and some is damaged. I hope everyone is doing ok.
Thank God no injuries!! Blessings to all involved and thank you 1st Responders!!
God is the only one to thank no one was. So thank god me and my children who slept through it and found out about it from it from my family checking if we’re okay weren’t injured. And everyone else. But especially, the people in my building, there’s one apartment separating our building and we were not informed let alone evacuated.
Great work first responders! 🙏
It’s nice to see other towns helping out, they all come together 🚒 to save lives, and are Community. 💜
Hoping and praying everyone is alright and gets help until their apartments are ready to live in again.
Job well done getting everyone out safely and no injuries!!!! 👍👏
Glad no one was hurt!
Does anyone need anything? How can we help?
Natalie Osman good thing you moved lol
We are seeking information on the three individuals who vandalized East Windsor Park on Reservoir Road during the overnight hours on Monday, 07/08, into Tuesday, 07/09. They are pictured below covering their faces as they were aware of the cameras at the park.
Our Parks & Recreation Department and Public Works Department do an outstanding job maintaining East Windsor’s parks. Support them by reporting any information on this incident to us at 860-292-8240.
We will conduct foot patrols in our parks through the summer to deter this from happening again. … See MoreSee Less

I wish I lived closer…I would love to help protect your parks.😎😎
I hope they’re caught and punished to the fullest extent.
Shame on them to try ruining where our towns children and families go to spend quality time together. If these young adults were shown the value of family and property at home this would not be happening. If they are caught I agree with Helen have them clean and clear along our rivers and parks.
When they are caught, they should be made to clean the parks in Windsor as punishment. Windsor has some beautiful parks. Shame on them.
They have no respect for anything ,shame on them and I hope HELP make money to replace what Ever damage they did too
Hope they are found and punished! Someone knows who they are!
When they are caught they should have to do maintenance at this park for the rest of the season! Little brats!
Someone knows who this group is. Between the backpack, clothing and the three of them…someone needs to step forward.
I Hope They Find Out Who They Are !!
Don't seem to have respect for anything these days. Makes all young folks look bad by the action of a few.
Sorry believe they and their parents are responsible.
I wish I had more info, but I saw them walking down side walk around midnight across from st catherines… didn't pay much attention accept it seemed odd parents were letting kids walk around that late
I agree they should clean the park!!!
I know it won't be long before you guys catch these punks and should be made to clean all the parks in town not just that one there is a nice little park on south water by the river that when my husband meets me for dinner (I work at Walmart ) we enjoy a quick bite to eat there
I agree catch them and vandalize their assess.
I asked my son if he knew.. He said no.. 😒 granted they are covered… Ugh. Parents.. Do you know where your kids are and doing??
What the Hell were they doing out at that time of the night? Do these kids have parents, where were the PARENTS!
Hope they all get caught and have to pay back all the money to fix what they did!! 😡😡😡
Unfortunately even if they are caught nothing will happen to them. A slap on the hands is all they will get. There was a tag sale on that street about a month ago and the kids were on their bikes and skate board Riding down middle of road swerving at me. The people having tagsale said the kids were swearing up a storm as they rode by. A good bar of soap and a jail cell for a few days.
It’s probably the same kids that hang out at the Broad Brook pond? Kids are so bored today, it’s sad
Maybe when they are caught their parents can be held responsible.
Any parents recognize the clothes or shoes?
