Animal Control

East Windsor Animal Control is a division of the East Windsor Police Department. Animal Control is dedicated to serving the community as it relates to both human and animal issues. Animal Control enforces both town ordinances as well as state laws that pertain to animals and their humans. Animal Control is committed to finding each animal in our care permanent and loving homes. Be sure to check out the East Windsor Police Department’s Facebook page as we often post animals who are up for adoption.

In the town of East Windsor all dogs MUST be licensed at six months of age. Licenses can be purchased at the Town Clerk’s Office, 11 Rye Street. Town residents have until July 1st to register their dogs with the Town Clerk’s Office. The ACO will begin issuing $75 fines required by state law to owner’s of unlicensed dogs after July 1st.  If the dog’s rabies vaccination has expired, the dog must be re-vaccinated and the certificate must be shown to the Town Clerk before the license can be issued.

Our Animal Control Officers can be reached at 860-292-1962 for routine complaints or questions. For immediate assistance of an animal that is hurt/sick or animal bites please contact police dispatch center at 860-292-8240 and an ACO will be notified.
