Alarm Registration
For Residents and Businesses
All East Windsor Residents and Business owners are required to register their alarms yearly with the East Windsor Police Department.
Registering your alarm provides the Police Department with important key-holder information and after-hours contact information should the alarm activate when you are not home or your business is closed. Resident and business owners are required to fill out the form and pay a yearly registration fee.
On April 28, 2005, the Town of East Windsor adopted an Alarm Ordinance 05-1 entitled “Ordinance Regulating Alarm Systems.” The Alarm Ordinance requires that all alarms be registered with the East Windsor Police Department. Registering your alarm provides the Police Department with important key-holder and emergency contact information, where a key is hidden or a code to get into the home in case of an emergency. It also provides after-hours contact information should the alarm activate when your business is closed.
Alarms that need to be registered are Burglary, Hold-Up\Panic Alarms, Medical Alarms & Fire Alarms (only if they are monitored by an alarm company)
Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarms NOT monitored by an alarm company are not registerable.
The alarm registration fee is $15.00 for a FIRST-TIME registration or $10.00 for a registration RENEWAL. If your home or business has had NO false alarms in the previous year, the renewal fee is waived. Please make checks payable to the East Windsor Police Department. ALARMS MUST BE RENEWED EACH YEAR, on or before September 1st. Any alarm registration received by the Police Department on or before July 1st would not be renewed until September 1st of the following year. Failure to register and/or renew an alarm system could result in a $100.00 fine. Please complete the alarm form & return it along with your payment to the address below:
